Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa brings back the best elements of Madagascar, including the familiar creatures: Alex the lion (voiced by Ben Stiller), Marty the zebra (Chris Rock), Gloria the hippo (Jada Pinkett-Smith), Melman the giraffe (David Schwimmer), and the loony lemur- King Julien (Sacha Baron Cohen) as they return for more adventures. Building on the characters we grew to love in Madagascar, the writers have added a herd of new creatures that are just as fully fleshed out and entertaining. The returning members of the voice cast are terrific with the newbies like Alec Baldwin complimenting the familiar voices well.
This Madagascar sequel picks up right where the 2005 film left it, with the Central Park Zoo animals preparing to leave Madagascar to return to the Big Apple. With a crazy group of penguins they are left marooned on the distant shores of Madagascar. They discover their families and where they actually belong to. Keeping the hope alive to return to New York Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo have hatched a plan so crazy it just might work!
The wacky cast of characters, a meatier storyline and spectacular animation, not to forget the humour and creativity, makes Madagascar: 2 the second biggest animated film ever. Madagascar 2 not only outshines its predecessor, but leaves one looking forward to #3!!

Character Description:
Alex (Voiced by Ben Stiller) is the Lion who as a cub was called Alakay and was named Alex in New York Central Park Zoo where he grew up. Alex is a lion who is more interested in dancing rather than hunting!
Marty (Voiced by Chris Rock) is the Zebra who lived at the Central Park Zoo, and is a good friend of Alex, in the movie.
