Mukta Arts bags rights to distribute Pirates of the Caribbean

MUMBAI: Mukta Arts Ltd has acquired the distribution rights of Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides (3D) from The Walt Disney Company (India) Private Limited for territories of Mumbai, that includes the city of Mumbai, western Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and part Karnataka, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.

The film will release on 20 May simultaneously with its world release. Apart from the film, Mukta Arts will be releasing its own productions - the Rituparna Ghosh- directed Nouka Doobi (Bengali) based on a novel by Rabindranath Tagore and its Hindi version Kashmakash.

Mukta Arts will also release two of its Hindi productions - Love Express and Cycle Kick - in May and June.

In the financial year, the distribution house has distributed more than 50 films. Its exhibition business has also shown an upward trend in the last year.

Currently, Mukta Arts is managing programming for over 160 cinemas, or 425 screens, for various multiplexes as well as single screens.
