Five directors to address corruption in country through a film

MUMBAI: Former CEO of Sahara Motion Pictures Akashdeep, known for directing the Manoj Bajpai, Tabu and Om Puri starrer Ghaath in 2000, is making a film titled Baap Ka Maal, that will have five directors including him.

All the five have decided to collaborate to make parts of the film, which they can best relate to in order to address the corruption in the country. Avers Akashdeep, "This film I am working on will have one story and five directors. It is about the state of affairs of this country."

Other directors who have been roped in for the project are Rahul Dholakia, Sudhir Mishra, Amole Gupte and Nishikant Kamat. "I have spoken to Sudhir Mishra, Amole Gupte, Nishikant Kamat and Rahul Dholakia. They have read the script and are excited about the film. But of course, each director will bring in his own sensibilities. I will do the compilation," avers the director.

Akashdeep has already got a letter of approval from Gupte, who will direct the portion that deals with kids. Kamat will do the Mumbai part of the story while Dholakia will direct the religious undertones.

The film will go on floors later this year.
