The Way Home, I am Sindhutai Sakpal bag top honours at Madrid fest

MUMBAI: Dr. Biju Kumar’s film, The Way Home, has won the best film award at the 10th Imagineindia film festival while the director was adjudged the best director.

The plot of ‘The Way Home‘ revolves around a doctor who is assigned the case of a woman who is the member of a terrorist group.

“As a pan-Indian film, The Way Home captures India’s diverse topography and natural wonder with some exhilarating photography. This is the first Indian film which covers 5 states as the locations,” states the official website of the festival describing the film.

The second winner in the best film category was bagged by Ananth Mahadevan’s ‘I am Sindhutai Sapkal‘ while ‘Arranged Happiness‘ by Daniela Creutz won the third honour.

While Vijanath Biradar won the best actor trophy for ‘Riding the Stallion of Dreams‘, Tejaswini Pandit won the Best Actress for ‘I am Sindhutai Sapkal‘.

The festival ran in Madrid, Spain, from 17 to 31 May.
