Fox Star to release Force on 16 September

MUMBAI: Fox Star Studios India is all set to release the John Abraham - Genelia D‘Souza starrer Force on 16 September.

Though the Nishikant Kamat directed film has been scheduled to release exactly a week after Shahid Kapoor’s Mausam and YRF’s Mere Brother Ki Dulhan hit the screens, the distributors are undeterred. Says Fox Star Studios India CEO Vijay Singh,"We are supremely confident of Force. It‘s a film that holds pan-India appeal, merges action and romance seamlessly and should appeal to the single screen audience as well as those thronging the plexes."

The distribution house would be using its clout in the international arena to give Force a wide release. "The film has a solid script. We‘ve seen the edit and feel it has the merits to reach out to audiences outside India as well," quips Singh.

Films catering to masses are being embraced big time and so are remakes of successful South films. Force is the remake of the Tamil hit Kaakha Kaakh.

The film could be the turning pointing in John Abraham’s career. Though he has a great physique, the actor has never been cast in an action film earlier. “Force is his first attempt at an action role, which should also serve as its USP besides a solid script," reveals Singh.
