Vuguru to make six series for AOL's websites

MUMBAI: By part of a deal with AOL Inc., Vuguru, the made-for-web production company founded by former Walt Disney Co. CEO Michael Eisner, will develop at least six original scripted series for its websites. The deal is part of AOL‘s strategy to provide engaging video for millions of its users.

Each series will have a story of about 90 minutes duration with natural breaks and cliffhangers. AOL claims that the video playbacks on its websites have grown by 90 per cent in the last three months.

Said AOL CEO and chairman Tim Armstrong that there has been a gap of experience between user-generated video that made it onto the web and the high production values of TV and film and this partnership is aimed at filling that gap.

The internet portal site acquired 5Min Media, a network of online videos in September.
