DD's 'Shaktimaan' ensures that the hearing impaired get the message

Shaktimaan

MUMBAI: Doordarshan's long running epic serial Shaktimaan is keeping an ear out for the hearing impaired.

Henceforth on every episode, teachers who teach the hearing impaired will be using sign language to give the message of each episode, the show's producer and lead actor Mukesh Khanna says, "The show continues to maintain its popularity. Children not only look forward but also seem to apply valuable messages in each episode in their lives. But children who cannot hear missed out on this valuable messages. That is how this initiative came about," Khanna says.

Khanna added that to achieve the aim of reaching out to those who cannot hear he approached Aliyawar Jung Institute and requested them to render their services.
