  • CNBC-TV18 present CFO Awards 2010 - India?s most distinguished Awards for Financial Excellence

Submitted by ITV Production on Oct 29, 2010

MUMBAI: CNBC-TV18, India?s no. 1 business medium, in association with MCX, a state-of-the-art electronic commodity futures exchange, presented India?s most distinguished awards for financial excellence - the CFO Awards 2010 in its fifth year on October 27, 2010 in Mumbai. The awards ceremony was preceded over by Mr. Salman Khurshid, Hon. Union Minister of Corporate Affairs.

The CNBC-TV18 ?CFO Awards 2010‘ seek to recognize the wizards of the financial world who have not only demonstrated excellence through their sheer knowledge, vision and acumen but also driven their businesses on a global platform. This is the league of individuals who have managed India‘s global aspirations with such precision that they are now India?s ambassadors to the world.

The theme of the awards this year is ?celebrating the men and women behind India‘s resilience?. The awards honoured the spirit of achievement by recognizing the contribution of such individuals to Brand INDIA. These individuals have made India a force to reckon with by capitalizing on opportunities and identifying growth options which has helped sustain the financial slowdown. They have also demonstrated the skills of being the real champions of India?s fast evolving CFO community by striving hard to make India a global business hub. These global financial leaders through their efficiency and excellence in financial deliverables have laid the foundation of emerging India, transforming it to become the next superpower.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Salman Khurshid, Hon. Union Minister of Corporate Affairs said, ?It is certainly a great pleasure to be here. I think CNBC-TV18?s CFO Awards is one of the finest awards. Though I spend more time with the CEOs and the Chairpersons of the companies, I do know that the real energy and the real strength comes from the CFOs. And therefore to be amongst the ones who really matter behind the smiles of the people. It really is a great privilege and a great honor to be with you.?

Further he added, ?I believe that the rooted solid support that will come to structured growth will come from the CFOs of our country. For me this is indeed a very important event and I hope you will go from strength to strength in taking these events and making them one day an event of a global reach. Congratulations to all the winners!?

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Udayan Mukherjee, Managing Editor, CNBC-TV18 said, ?India has evolved as a global financial hub only due to the persistence of certain expertised individuals who have build empires that are inherently strong, resilient in face of crisis and nimble enough to move and capitalize opportunities. These wizards and their companies have not only contributed to India?s strong GDP numbers but also led the massive bull rally. We, at CNBC-TV18, feel proud and honoured to award such eminent financial experts.?

  • JWT Mumbai wins creative accolades at Midas Awards 2010

Submitted by ITV Production on Oct 28, 2010

MUMBAI: JWT Mumbai recently won the prestigious Midas Award in two competitive categories for its creative work on Aditya Birla Financial Services Group (ABFSG).

The agency won a silver award for Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund ‘Growthscope‘ and Midas Finalist Award for Birla Sun Life Insurance‘s ‘Wealth with Protection Solutions campaign‘.

Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund campaign created by JWT India was adjudged as the world‘s best advertising initiative in the direct mail category by a grand jury of industry experts from all over the world.

Commenting on the award, Aditya Birla Group Chief Marketing Officer - Financial Services Ajay Kakar said, "At the ABFSG, we like to celebrate creative excellence that works with our customers. We are delighted to receive these awards through an international forum that solely recognises creative excellence in financial services. Industry recognition like these reinforces our faith in our brand philosophy of creating communication that is simple, clear, distinct, positive and relevant to our target group."

Commenting on this achievement, JWT Mumbai Executive Creative Director Tista Sen said, "We are elated to have won this prestigious award on an international platform judged by global industry experts. The competition was stiff across 31 countries, with a number of players in each of these categories. We look forward to partnering ABFSG on many more such innovations in future."

While Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund won an award for its direct mailer called ‘Growthscope‘ based on the theme of kaleidoscope, Birla Sun Life Insurance was adjudged a finalist for its Wealth with Protection Solutions TVC, featuring cricketers Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh.

The films were set within the realistic frame work of a candid interview set up, where the cricketers spoke of the highs and lows of their careers, the bouquets - brickbats that come along with it and the sense of vulnerability every time they are out on the field.

The idea was to create relevance for these solutions among today‘s young and confident Indian, who has seen the good times of the post liberalization era and has a tendency of taking them for granted.
